Volkswagen Touareg Facelift heading for Beijing Motor Show
Thu, 17 Apr 2014The Volkswagen Touareg (pictured) with its 2015 nip and tuck It’s almost four years since the latest VW Touareg was revealed – and a year since VW introduced and R Line version of the Touareg - and now it’s time for a bit of a nip and tuck for VW’s largest SUV. Heading for the Beijing Motor SHow next week is a facelift for the Touareg which combines small cosmetic tweaks with some new technology to bring the Touareg up to date. A new front bumper and new bi-xenon headlights give the nose a new look, and a new back bumper, diffuser and LE fogs tweak the back.
Plans for Smart’s three-seat sports car uncovered in patent drawings
Mon, 03 Aug 2009Mercedes-Benz is developing a three-seat sports car for Smart. Depicted here in a series of European patent-application sketches obtained by AutoWeek, the radical new sports car forms part of an extended range of new Smart models planned for introduction by the middle of the next decade, including a more conventional four-seater to be produced in cooperation with Renault. Mercedes-Benz is reacting to increased competition from Toyota in the form of the iQ and the impending arrival of similar urban-based offerings from premium-brand rivals Audi and BMW.
Design Contest: 2007 World Automotive Design Competition winners announced
Fri, 16 Mar 2007The winners of the 2007 World Automotive Design Competition (WADC), sponsored by Autodesk, were announced at the 2007 Canadian International Auto Show in February. The competition was relaunched in 2007 with a few new twists created to meet the needs of the global automotive industry. The fifth WADC strived to provide manufacturers worldwide with a source of new automotive design talent and to encourage design students, and especially women, to choose a career in automotive design.
