The RAM3n++s full dot matrix display and soft keys make operation simple and fast and allow you to remotely control all functions of Standard Horizon fixed mount VHF radios including Quantum Matrix Quest-X Quest+ Explorer and Phantom series. Additional features include all DSC functions including distress alert. When connected to the MATRIX GX2150 GX2100 GX2000 and QUANTUM series VHFn++s the RAM3 also controls the 30W PA/hailer functions. When connected to the MATRIX AIS+ GX3000 GX2150 and GX2100 it can also display AIS targets. The RAM3 also provides intercom capability when connected to a compatible Standard Horizon VHF. Includes 23' cable and waterproof panel mount connector extendable up to 70' using optional CT-100 (23 Foot) extension cables. A pair of speaker wires are supplied on the rear of the cable so you do not need to pull additional wires for an extension speaker. 3-Year waterproof warranty.

Volkswagen trots out Mini Vader for Chattanooga plant inauguration

Volkswagen is hoping that a little advertising goes a long way. The company brought its Super Bowl star Mini Vader back for an encore during the opening ceremonies for VW’s new Chattanooga factory. The pint-sized Dark Lord gave a final blessing to the plant before pushing a red button to make things official.

BMW has launched its first diesel M car: the new M550d xDrive in saloon and Touring estate forms. It's part of a strategy to fill the gap between the exclusive M GmbH division cars and the top-end cosmetic M Sport trim lines with a new range of M lite: BMW M Performance Automobiles. Developed by the engineers responsible for the M3, M5 et al, the new M550d xDrive is powered by a new high-output version of the 3.0-litre straight six turbodiesel packing not one, not two, but three turbochargers.

Mercedes GLA (new A-Class SUV) caught on video

The SUV version of the new A-Class – the Mercedes GLA – has been caught on video winter testing ahead of a likely debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The new Mercedes A-Class is now out in the wild, and this morning we had news of UK pricing for the new Mercedes CLA – the ‘Coupe’ A-Class – and now we have news of the next instalment of Mercedes’ A-Class adventure – the Mercedes GLA. We had video back in December of the new Mercedes GLA, but this time the GLA is out playing in winter climes as it gets close to its first reveal.
