Wed, 23 Mar 2011The track only Mazda MX-5 GT Back at Frankfurt in 2009, Mazda revealed an MX-5 which had been put on a serious diet – the Mazda MX-5 Superlight – but which was sadly just a concept. And now we get a super-light MX5 that isn’t a concept but also can’t be bought for the road because it’s a track car – the Mazda MX-5 GT. MX-5 lovers the world over weep.
New De Tomaso Pantera at Frankfurt
Tue, 12 Jul 2011What is thought to be the new Pantera leaving the De Tomaso facility So far all we’ve officially had from the new De Tomaso, now run by ex Fiat man Gian Mario Rossignolo, is the not particularly well-received De Tomaso Deauville at Geneva in the Spring. It seemed an odd route for the revived De Tomaso to go, and an odd choice of name. The Deauville seems to be halfway between the (poor-selling) BMW 5-Series GT and a Porsche Cayenne.

He hated the first BMW X3 (didn’t we all), he thinks anyone with a brain would buy a 5-Series and ignore the X5, the BMW SatNav is only good for directions to Poland and he thought only knobs drive a Beemer. But he has decided the knobs all drive Audi’s now and has declared the M3 the benchmark for all performance cars.
