Mon, 16 Jan 20122012 Audi A6 Allroad UK price announced Just days after the reveal of the new A6 Allroad, Audi has announced that the 2012 A6 Allroad will start at £43,145. In the midst of the reveals at the Detroit Auto Show last week, Audi revealed the 2012 A6 Allroad in Germany, and a decent-looking Allroad it is too. Unlike previous iterations of the A6 Allroad, the 2012 A6 Allroad looks almost as sleek and appealing as the regular A6 Avant, despite its butch plastic cladding and skid plates.
Infiniti planning to take on Porsche Panamera
Sun, 20 Oct 2013Infiniti planning to make the Essence Concept (pictured) in to a Panamer-like Coupe Back in 2009 – ahead of Infiniti launching in Europe – the Infiniti Essence arrived at the Geneva Motor Show as an illustration of what we could expect to see from Infiniti in the future. That was four years ago, but now it looks like the Essence may be on its way to production – after a slight stretch and the acquisition of a couple of extra doors – after Andy Palmer, Nissan’s VP for Future Products, told Automotive News Infiniti is planning a range-topping flagship to take on the Porsche Panamera. The Essence seems a good starting point for that mission; it’s already a big (over 15′ long) swoopy-coupe with a hybrid powerplant consisting of a 3.7 litre turbo V6 and electric motor combination good for 590bhp.
Henrik Fisker leaves his eponymous company
Thu, 14 Mar 2013Henrik Fisker, co-founder of Fisker Automotive, has resigned from the company as Fisker seeks funding to move forward. But Henrik Fisker managed to convince the car world his Fisker Karma was credible, even if its gestation has been plagued by problems, the latest of which has been the demise of its battery supplier – A123 Systems – and the wrecking of a dock full of seemingly uninsured Karmas by Hurricane Sandy. The current problems at Fisker has seen them seeking a new investor, with two Chinese companies – Geely and Dohnfeng – vying to take a majority stake in Fisker Automotive and help Fisker recover sales of the Karma and move on with Project Nina, the smaller Fisker Atlantic.
