Crashing the Pixar Motorama car show

The animated film studio Pixar sits behind newly aged brick walls on a sprawling campus in the East Bay that looks and seems a little like Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory, especially since you can't get inside. But we've been inside, and it is a pretty wonderful place. On July 12 Pixar's Jay Ward, guardian of the "Cars" franchise and all the wheeled wonders that entails, organized the latest Pixar Motorama, the greatest car show you'll never see.

Porsche 918 Spyder here in 2013, says new CEO

New Porsche president and chief executive officer Matthias Müller has confirmed that the new 918 Spyder hybrid supercar is on track for a 2013 delivery. Speaking to CAR at the 2010 Paris motor show, Müller said the engineering programme was on time and that the 918 would stay faithful to the concept car revealed in March this year. ‘We are doing [engineering] concept work on the 918 at the moment and will finish at the end of 2010,’ said Müller.

Peugeot 308 R Concept stars at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show

Peugeot’s hot new 308 R Concept hatchback has the new mk7 Volkswagen Golf GTI square in its sights here at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The regular 308 hatch is also making its debut, showing quality Peugeot hope will rival the likes of Volkswagen and Audi, but with the rather racy looking 308 R, the French firm is after the performance crown, too.
