Nissan Helps World's Strongest Man Set New World Record

THE WORLD'S strongest man, Zydrunas Savickas, set a new Guinness world record for the Most Cars Pulled By One Man when he towed 12 Nissan Notes weighing a total 12,941kg. Savickas, five-times World Strongest Man champion and widely regarded as the one of the greatest strongmen of all time, only had one attempt to set the new record. Wearing a specialised pulling harness and rope arrangement he pulled the 12 Notes over five metres, accomplishing the feat in 32.9 seconds.

Ford reveals ultra-eco Focus EcoBoost

Ford has revealed Europe’s first petrol-powered five-door family car to dip beneath the 100g/km CO2 mark with the launch of a 99g/km CO2 Focus EcoBoost. The new 100hp 1.0-litre variant will launch next year and, at 67.5mpg, become its most fuel-efficient petrol-engined family car ever. So we’d half expected that Paris may have seen the first sight of the Gallardo’s replacement rather than a mildly titivated version of the current car, but that now seems likely to happen at the Geneva Motor Show in 2013 after Lamborghini put up a website this week – The Final Gallardo – leaving us in no doubt the Gallardo’s time is up.
