  • Affordable starter is constructed with longer-life bearings than OEM
  • Many OEM starter motors have an unprotected output needle bearing on the outside of the output shaft's seal; moisture can and does enter the output cap of the electric motor and follows the armature shaft to the unprotected output needle bearing, which corrodes the bearing
  • Rick's takes the extra step of installing a double-sealed ball bearing, with the output shaft seal on the outside of the bearing in their new aftermarket unit
  • This simple application of common-sense engineering does two things: first, the outside bearing is now protected from damaging water entry, and second, the sealed ball bearing is replaceable

    Codemasters extends game agreement with Formula One

    Codemasters will continue as makers of the Formula One video game, the company said on Tuesday. It extended its deal with F1 honcho Bernie Ecclestone and friends and will work to expand the F1 video-game line across new platforms and to new audiences in the coming years. Codemasters was founded in 1986 by game-designing brothers Richard and David Darling.

    Peugeot 508 SW 'Allroad' We’re only just starting to see the Peugeot 508 – the replacement for both the 407 and 607 – hitting roads in Europe, but already we’re starting to see evidence that Peugeot aren’t going to be settling for just the Saloon and the Estate. It looks like Peugeot are intending having a crack at Audi and their Allroad A6 if the spy photo we grabbed is anything to go by. But if this is 4WD – and it almost certainly is – what sort of 4WD is it running?

    Mercedes has revealed a final version of the C63 AMG – the C 63 AMG Edition 507 – with more power and bigger specification  Debuts at Geneva 2013. Mercedes will have plenty to show visitors to Switzerland next month – including the new CLA – and they’ll also have this morning’s Mercedes news – the Mercedes C 63 AMG Edition 507. The C63 AMG Edition 507 - available as saloon, coupe or estate –  looks like a final hurrah for the current C Class AMG (the new C Class will arrive in 2014), and Mercedes has made a decent effort to make the Edition 507 more than just a jump in power.
