StopTech Big Brake Kits exceed stock performance in two key areas: First larger rotors increase heat capacity allowing a driver to brake harder stop-after-stop with reduced chance of fade. Second stiffer calipers and stainless steel lines reduce system compliance providing consistent pedal feel and confidence-inspiring responsiveness.
The key however is to increase heat capacity and reduce compliance without upsetting a vehicle's stock front-to-rear brake torque ratio. That is why StopTech developed the Balanced Brake Upgrade design philosophy which precisely apportions front and rear braking resources while factoring in vehicle weight transfer under braking.
In contrast a brake upgrade that adds too much front torque (as many do) will reduce your car's ability to maximize the traction available from all four tires robbing you of performance. In addition a system that uses too many pistons or pistons that are too large will make the brake pedal much more difficult to modulate limiting a driver's control of brake input.

BMW has revealed detailed specs on the all-new 4.0-litre V8 that’s soon to be slotted into the all-new M3. Power is confirmed at 420bhp with 295lb ft peak torque available from 3000 to 7000rpm. The engine – made at the same foundry as the BMW Sauber F1 team’s V8 and derived from the same architecture as the M5 and M6 V10 – looks set to dispel any fears M purists may have had that the M3 would be transformed into a nose heavy, slow revving behemoth.

The market for smaller four-door coupes has grown in recent years, and it looks like the Mercedes CLA – the four-door coupe version of the Mercedes A-Class – is a runaway success. That seems to have given Peugeot the idea that it should revive the ’40-something’ badge a couple of years after they dropped the 407 and 607 in favour of the 508 and build a new coupe, this time a four-door. The Peugeot 407 was a larger two-door coupe – the not quite as convincing update for the very good 406 coupe – which had an old-world coupe feel and was very much a niche product in Peugeot’s range.

BMW has peeled the last pieces of camouflage sheeting from their F20 1-series and announced details of the upcoming entry-level car. BMW 1-series: the evolutionary new look
As revealed in CAR's spy images last month, the 1-series is a clear evolution of its predecessor, featuring smoother lines but a more aggressively-angled front-end. The new headlight design dominates the nose, providing the 1-series with a pronounced squint compared with its predecessor. F20 has grown in most dimensions over the first 1-series: it is 85mm longer overall, and sits on a 30mm longer.
