Vauxhall & Opel could merge with Peugeot Citroen.

GM Europe (Opel and Vauxhall) could extend their deal with PSA (Peugeot Citroen) with a Joint Venture or merger. When GM Europe and PSA announced they were forming an alliance earlier this year, we asked if this was an admission that the mainstream car market in Europe had changed forever, and an alliance between Opel, Vauxhall, Peugeot and Citroen was the only way to keep the brands viable. But we did also question what use a projected annual saving of €2 billion by sharing suppliers and co-developing platforms would be to PSA and GM considering their woeful losses.

Lexus CT200h F Sport (2010), faster hybrids planned

Lexus is desperate to portray its new CT200h as the sporty hybrid. Hence the new Lexus CT200h F Sport unveiled at the Australian motor show. There's a new styling pack, including an IS-F-alike snout, alloys and F Sport trims outside and a sportier interior.

RenaultSport Clio 200: Price from £18,995

Renault has confirmed prices for the RenaultSport Clio 200, starting at £18,995 in standard spec and £19,995 for the Lux spec. Starting at £18,995, the RenaultSport Clio 200 comes with AirCon, SatNav, Bluetooth, Keyless and Sports seats with Renault’s Efficient Dual Clutch (EDC) gearbox as standard (which can skip gears) and the RS Drive system – giving a choice of three modes that change the settings for throttle, engine and steering – launch control and traction control you can actually switch off. If you want a few more home comforts, then you can opt for the Lux version that throws in Climate, auto lights and wipers, better sound system and electric windows for an extra £1,000.
