Sunbeam Alpine (Late) & Tiger

Steel 13" Wheel

Stock 13-inch steel wheel off of an Alpine parts car.  This is the later style with the extra dimples/notches at the lug area that was common to Tiger.  Should be correct for about '64 (Series IV) Alpine and newer (as well as all Tiger), but should work on an earlier Alpine too.

Stampings on front side are the "X" symbol and a faint date code of "66".  Part number should be 1214930, but I don't see any sign of it on this wheel.

Has been sandblasted, and has good bolt holes and tire contact areas (only minor surface rust and pitting).

There are some minor cosmetic nicks (see photos).

I have three more of these later style wheels available sandblasted at the moment (all with the X stampings, all with 66 date codes, and all with a faint portion of the "12149.." number sequence), and will offer as many as purchaser wants at the same price.

See my other items for more Tiger / Alpine parts.

Payment methods accepted are Paypal.

Buyer to pay $44.50 for Canada Post shipping to the Continental USA (this includes the 11% premium that eBay is now charging sellers on shipping costs). Canadian shipping will cost slightly less, and depend on province.

All other locations pay actual shipping rate, plus the same eBay fee on the shipping. I ship internationally, but international rates on a piece this size are going to be very expensive (generally 3-4 times the USA rate for European destinations, and 5-6 times the USA rate for Australia/New Zealand). Thanks for looking and good luck!

Government abandons plan to make driving test tougher

Sat, 24 May 2014

Proposals to make learning to drive much tougher in a bid to improve road safety amongst young people have been abandoned by the government, Radio 1’s Newsbeat reports. The changes would have involved the introduction of a probationary licence for the first 12 months, a curfew on driving late at night and compulsory lessons on motorway driving. But plans have been scraped because they would restrict young drivers’ lives too much.

Australia's Holden to cease production after 2017, GM says

Wed, 11 Dec 2013

General Motors, in the latest blow to Australia's auto industry, will end vehicle and engine manufacturing and scale back engineering operations in the country by the end of 2017. The company's Holden unit, a mainstay in Australia for decades, cited the high cost of manufacturing in one of the world's smallest but most competitive markets and one that has also been upended by a steady rise in imports, mostly from southeast Asia. There has been widespread speculation of the move in recent days and earlier Tuesday, in Australia, GM officials said no decision had been made.

The row was witnessed by an Evening Standard reporter, who happened to be walking past at the time of the incident. Nathalie Pulford, 42, was dining in London's affluent Chelsea neighbourhood when she claims she spotted Mr Bercow bump her car during a parking manoeuvre.
