It may be leaden with PR-talk but this short presentation by Yasushi Nakamuta, Mazda's director of advanced design studio at the press unveiling of the new Mazda 3 in Melbourne is still worth a couple of minutes of your time. But while the 3 is undeniably attractive we can't help but feel that the 'unique' design process Nakamuta describes (which appears wholly conventional to us) has resulted in little more than a thoroughly normal product. Infiniti previews Sebastian Vettel-inspired FX50 before Frankfurt motor show

Infiniti released a photo of the sinister-looking FX50 concept inspired by Sebastian Vettel on Sunday. The 390-hp sports crossover looks to be painted in matte white, which was one of the things discussed in the Vettel FX50 teaser video we saw on Friday. The video shows Vettel and Infiniti design chief Shiro Nakamura discussing the vehicle that is set to debut in Frankfurt, including colors, steering wheels and carbon-fiber accents.

The new Toyota Aygo (pictured) gets new engine tech The new Toyota Aygo has only just arrived as Toyota’s part of the city car triumvirate which includes the new Citroen C1 and new Peugeot 108, but its already set to get improvements. Toyota have been playing with the little 1.0 litre three-cylinder that lurks under the bonnet of the majority of Aygos, and have managed to do some serious tweaking. The tweaks include a higher compression ratio of 11.5:1, a cooled exhaust gas recirculation system, changes to the timing, better combustion, less friction and lower weight.
