Jaguar XKR-S: UK debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed

The Jaguar XKR-S will make its UK debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2011 Jaguar has revealed that its fastest car in a generation – and its fastest series production car ever – the Jaguar XKR-S is to make its UK debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July. Which has surprised us a bit – we rather expected it to start turning up before that. But in lots of ways it makes sense to have Jaguar’s new Cat with Big Claws making waves on the  Goodwood Hillclimb as the Goodwood Festival of Speed is going to be something of  Jaguar-fest this year.

2014 China Design Schools League Report

As well as recognizing the best student automotive design talent, Car Design Awards China also acknowledges the school whose students have had the most success in the competition. For the first time in the competition's five-year history, an award for Most Successful School was given, with the China Central Academy of Fine Art taking the inaugural win. The 850 was a very popular car for Fiat in the ‘60s, especially in its spider version with its cute design and compact proportions. When the time came to replace it, Fiat went back to Bertone, where chief designer Marcello Gandini was charged with designing its replacement. Not happy to simply recreate the 850, he began with a whole new layout by placing the engine directly in front of the rear axle for a mid-engined layout.
