McLaren MP4-12C named

Mon, 07 Sep 2009

The McLaren P11 has now been named - it will be the McLaren MP4-12C Update 9/9/09: McLaren has now released full details and pictures of the McLaren MP4-12C Update 10/0/09: Ron Dennis talks about the MP4-12c and McLaren Automotive’s future plans. Three cars, five Harley-Davidson motorcycles and five boats are among the items from bankrupt Minnesota car dealer Denny Hecker being auctioned off to raise money for creditors. The item list for the May 25 auction in New Germany, Minn., includes a 2004 Cadillac Escalade, a 2004 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder convertible and a 2002 Mitsubishi Montero SUV. This is the third sale of Hecker's possessions since last August to raise money for creditors.

Concept Car of the Week: DeTomaso Zonda (1971)

Fri, 26 Jul 2013

Those new gorgeous models were the work of Dutch-born Tom Tjaarda, then head of design at Ghia. Despite those amazing cars, the styling house was struggling to make a profit and that same year, Alejandro DeTomaso sold Ghia along with a large chunk of his company to Ford, which was looking for that exotic Italian touch.
