A swingarm conversion kit that replaces the stock Cleve Bloc style swingarm bushings with spherical bearings
The conversion over to spherical bearings in the early models dramatically changes the handling and tracking of all the FLT and FXR models. This allows for the swingarm to react quicker to any harsh road conditions keeping the wheel in contact with the road. The use of spherical bearings also helps negate any lateral and torsional movement in the swingarm by the shear dynamics of a spherical bearing
2 versions available, with or without replacement axle
Covers all 80-01 FLT, FXR models. Also, coincides with Harley-Davidsons change from the Cleve Bloc bushing to spherical bearings in all 02-08 FLT models
Along with the installation of the Swingarm Conversion Kit, Custom Cycle Engineering recommends the replacement of the old rubber mount isolators (H-D#47564-86B)

DRIVERS OF DIESEL CARS could have to pay more in road tax or face additional levies to travel into city centres in an effort to tackle pollution, it is reported. Major cities around the UK are considering bringing in low emission zones to force out older diesel vehicles that are responsible for higher levels of fumes, The Times said. Almost all diesel vehicles driven into central London will trigger a £10 charge under plans being considered by mayor Boris Johnson, who will also reportedly lobby the Government to increase road tax on diesel cars to encourage motorists to move to cleaner vehicles.

Carlos Arturo Torres Tovar from Colombia was last week announced as the winner of the 5th annual Peugeot Design Contest at the 2008 Mondial de l'Automobile in Paris. The 25 year old designer's winning 'RD' concept was chosen via an online internet poll and a competition jury headed by Peugeot's Managing Director, Jean Philippe Collin. This year's contest asked designers to "Imagine the Peugeot in the worldwide megalopolis of tomorrow" and to then design a car that could evolve with the cities of the future, while retaining the key values of the 21st century.
