What is it? The F-Type is the latest in a long and distinguished line of “Types” from the Leaping Cat: C-Type, D-Type and E-Type being the predecessors, any one of which holds a revered place on the wish list of true collector's must-have sports cars. Now, for the first time in 50 years, Jaguar is introducing a new two-seater: the F-Type.

Thomas Ingenlath: Volvo Concept C to end 'vanilla' design era [w/Video]

Volvo has promised a radical change in its future design language that will be embodied in its Concept C coupé, the first concept to be developed since head of design Thomas Ingenlath's appointment in July 2012. Our first look at the concept, which debuts at this month's Frankfurt motor show, comes from a video starring Ingenlath (see left). At first it seems to just show him sketching while he explains how some people see Volvo design as "vanilla" – nice, but not iconic or cutting-edge – but if we slow it down at around the 11-second mark, we get a preview of what we can expect.

Hyundai explores pickup plans with Chrysler, report says

Hyundai proposed plans to Chrysler earlier this year to work together on a truck derived from the Ram chassis for Hyundai, Reuters is reporting. Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne rejected the overture from the South Korean company, Reuters says, but it's possible Hyundai could make another offer. The move could allow Hyundai to tap into a lucrative part of the U.S.
