Toyota testing breathalyzer unit on 30 commercial vehicles

Toyota Motor Corp. began road tests last week of a breathalyzer that is mounted on the instrument panel and locks a truck's ignition if it detects the driver has had too much to drink. The road tests involve 30 commercial vehicles.

McLaren P13 set to arrive in 2014

The next new car from McLaren – codenamed P13 and set to take on the Porsche 911 and Audi R8 – now looks set to arrive in 2014. What is different this time is that Toyota has taken a non-production car with an electric motor – the Toyota TMG EV P001 – to crack the record for an EV. Nurburgring regular Jochen Krumbach took the Toyota Motorsport EV P001 round the 20.8km Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit in a blistering 7m 47.794s, annihilating the previous record of 9m 1.388s.
