Willie Garner, the founder of Trans-Dapt Performance, began his fledgling company manufacturing and selling transmission adapters out of his garage. Mr. Garner became so well known for his quality adapters, it wasn't long before he hired a "right hand man" to do the manufacturing, while Willie went out on the road, selling his product. With Willie's philosophy of providing a wide selection of quality products at a fair price, Trans-Dapt soon became THE company to call, whenever you needed a transmission, carburetor or oil filter adapter, and within just 4 years, the two man shop in a garage was filling up 40,000 square feet of office, warehouse and manufacturing space. In 2009, that will be 50 years ago... Today, Trans-Dapt Performance Products, which is now part of the Hedman group of performance companies, resides in a 100,000 square foot facility using the latest in CNC machining and CAD design to ensure that Willie Garner's philosophy of providing quality performance parts is not compromised. 2015 Land Rover Defender WON’T look like DC100 Concept
Wed, 17 Oct 2012Gerry McGovern - Land Rover’s Design Director – has said the 2015 Land Rover Defender won’t look like the DC100 Concept. Most of the feedback Land Rover got was pretty positive, although there were comments from traditional Defender owners that the DC100 looked like a toy Defender and not the rugged icon they wanted. But it looks like those traditional buyers of the Land Rover Defender can stop panicking that their wheels of choice will be turned in to a style statement instead of a workhorse after Gerry McGovern - Land Rover’s Design Director – told CarAdvice that the 2015 Defender won’t look like the DC100 after all.
Kia Sportage and Soul recall – affects 7000 UK cars
Fri, 09 May 20145,787 UK Kia Sportage models (pictured) are being recalled. Recalls are a fact of life for car makers, but at least the industry now tries to respond to problems as they arise, and before they cause damage to people of vehicles. This latest recall comes from Kia in the UK, which is recalling a total of 5,785 Sportage models and 1.432 Soul models to address a problem that ha been identified with the seat belt pre-tensioner mechanism.

But the fervor will rise again as the car gets a public debut at the Geneva motor show next week.
