What looks like a screen grab from Sin City is in fact our first official glimpse of the new Jaguar crossover. The jacked-up, coupe-like CX-17 is one of two new models on the way from Gaydon, the other being the ‘X760’-codenamed 3-series rivalling sports saloon. Argh, not another teaser picture… We don’t like them any more than you do, but in this case we’ll allow the Jaguar through the net.

As a clear sign that the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo is heading for production, we have a new video of the Sport Turismo in detail. That view is reinforced with the arrival from Porsche of video of the Panamera Sport Turismo on the move and input from a pair of talking heads – Advanced Design Style man Mitja Borkert and Michael Mauer, head of the Porsche Design Studio – giving us an insight in to the thinking behind the Sport Turismo. ‘Good design is important, because everyone loves beautiful things’, says Mitja Borkert, although some would say that function has been more important than form for Porsche in the past.

Concept Car of the Week: Ford Mustang RSX Concept (1979)

In the late ‘70s, Ford commissioned carrozzeria Ghia to build a concept car based on the Fox platform to help promote its third generation Mustang. Probably inspired by the Escort RS's success at the World Rally Championship, the concept was dubbed RSX – standing for Rally Sport Experimental – and the Fox platform-based Mustang was modified as a rally car. To improve the handling, the wheelbase from the Fox was shortened by 142mm, the track was widened by around 25mm at the rear while the ride height was increased for off-tarmac stages of European rallies.
