Condition:Used

Selling for a friend and was told these are for a 1968-1969 Chevelle, but fit many other models. Hopefully, you car guys out there will know what those are, because I don't :). The perimeter binding probably needs to be re-sewn as its coming loose in places, there's a small tear as shown measuring about 5/8" across and one of the brackets will need a little more cleaning than the other.  The rest of the ribbed fabric is actually in very good condition, i.e. not faded.  One bracket is stamped C5716816 and the other is stamped 5B 571686.

Happy to answer any questions or send additional pictures.  If shipping is less, I'll refund the difference.  Thanks for looking!

Automotive Press Association Design Panel says autonomous cars will tear up design rulebook [w/Video]

Tue, 18 Jun 2013

Fully autonomous cars will challenge everything we know about car design to date, according to industry experts at the Michelin Challenge Design-hosted Automotive Press Association (APA) Design Panel. The APA members-only event, held at the Detroit Athletic Club, carried the theme of 'Driven/Undriven: The Duality of Tomorrow's Automobile' – the subject of this year's Michelin Challenge Design – and explored the design challenges and opportunities that will arise with the advent of autonomous vehicles. The APA Design Panel consisted of Jim Hall of 2953 Analytics, Chris Borroni-Bird, vice president of Strategic Development at Qualcomm and author of Reinventing the Automobile: Personal Urban Mobility of the 21st Century as well as Stewart Reed, chair of the Transportation Design course at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.

BMW boss tells the truth about electric cars. And then has to apologise for doing so.

Sun, 01 May 2011

BMW US CEO Jim O'Donnell - "EVs won't work for more than 90% of drivers" Really, you do have to ask what kind of barking mad world we live in when the boss of a car company is forced to apologise for telling the truth, simply because it upsets a vocal minority (and his bosses, no doubt) We’ve been banging on for years about how useless electric cars are as a replacement for the internal combustion engine, and how they are really only viable as inner-city runarounds and as toys for the better-off. Even then, electric cars have their problems. As inner-city cars EVs certainly do the local environment a favour by transferring emissions to the point of electricity generation instead of the point of use.

See what Milwaukee uses for road de-icing

There are a few different ways to make icy roads drivable, including spreading sand and salt on them. Here in Detroit, we use tons and tons (and tons) of rock salt on our crumbling roads in part because we're sitting on unbelievably massive salt deposits. Wisconsin is sitting on massive deposits, too -- of cheese brine.
