Wrap Details:

This listing is for two (2) brand new rolls of PREMIUM 1/16" x 2" x 50ft of BLACK header wrap. This wrap is manufactured in the United States. This is a first quality black wrap manufactured from high grade 100% fiberglass to withstand continuous high temperatures up to 1000 degrees Fahrenheit.

The uses for this wrap are numerous. It's most popular use is to insulate header pipes and other engine components in the auto and motorcycle racing market. This wrap can reduce under-hood temperatures 50%-70%. It will also protect other under-hood components such as starters,  as well as, the crew or mechanic who may have to work on a hot engine. This wrap is also used in karting to protect the driver's right arm from burns due to the header pipe.

This wrap is a 2" wide so you get much more coverage with less footage as compared to narrower wraps on the market.

Installation:

Prior to installation, complete some research on header wrap installation and break-in. There are some great videos and how to blogs on the internet that may provide some additional incite to your project.

Our wrap has a premium weave and is very easy to install. Fully clean and degrease your pipes and let dry completely before installation. When installing, generally 1/4" overlap is recommended. Most people like to start at the head and work their way not the pipe. Secure at both ends and along the length as needed. Bends may require more than 1/4" overlap at times.

This wrap should only be installed if your engine is free from leaks of oil or any other fluids. Fiberglass can retain fluids, although the wrap rated as noncombustible. The fluids in it can and may burn. Buyer, user,  and installer assume all responsibility for keeping wrap clean and free from fluids and other contaminates.  Seller is free of responsibility for buyer, user, or installer negligence.

This wrap can only be used as a heat trace insulator if the pipes free from leaks.

Generally it takes 100ft at 2" width to wrap a set of V8 headers. A 2" x 50ft roll can wrap most any small engine header such as motorcycles, karts, mini bikes, or some mini choppers and pocket bikes.

Installation photos provided by prior customers.

Ford C-Max and Mondeo spotted in Detroit

Mon, 26 Mar 2012

Detroiter Spencer Abbott spotted a couple of Euro Fords out cruising the boulevards of suburban Detroit this weekend. Like a good Autoweek reader, he snapped a few photos as soon as it could be done safely. The C-Max can be easily explained, as Ford plans to start selling the little people mover stateside this fall.

It's a Corvettes summer at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion

Sun, 18 Aug 2013

You couldn't swing a camshaft without hitting a Corvette at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion. Chevy was celebrating, in no particular order: the 60th anniversary of its iconic sports car; the rolling unveiling of the new C7 Stingray; the first-ever public peek at the C7R race car; an almost-unprecedented gathering of great Corvette race cars from all eras; and a ginormous gathering of the Corvette faithful tearing around the track in all models of screaming, roaring American muscleVettes, few with silenced exhausts and many emblazoned with all or part of the American flag. Is this a great country or what?
