Volvo is launching an R-design version of the new C30 The R-Design body kit on the C30 is painted in the same colour as the car for a seamless integration, and the visual illusion that the C30 is actually much lower tha the 10mm suspension drop. Five-spoke Cactus alloys are fitted, and the interior gets new upholstery. Just a shame there are no power upgrades.

Google hopeful over driverless car

GOOGLE says it has turned a corner in its pursuit of a car that can drive itself. The leader of the technology giant's driverless car project wrote in a blog post that test vehicles are becoming far more adept at city driving. They can already comfortably handle motorways, he said, but city driving presents a virtual obstacle course of pedestrians, cyclists and blind corners.

College Exhibition: Creapole MA Degree Show 2009

Creapole, a design school offering degrees in a range of disciplines, held its MA Transportation Design show last week at its campus in Paris, France. The masters students, now in their fifth year of study, have been preparing for the show through the school's intensive program, which includes sociological, ecological and anthropological studies during the fourth year. In the fifth year, program directors Alec Moran and Cyril Randuineau allowed the students to develop a vehicle based on their own theme and invited jury members from the design community to come by and give the students feedback on their various projects.
