Up for sale is a USED crankshaft. This has the original MOPAR Casting/Forging number of 665792. Purchased from the estate of a gentleman who collected DeSoto cars, so it was probably take from one of the various engines he had in his garage. Appears to be in good used condition, but is being sold AS-IS. Will need machining to clean up the light rust, etc on the bearing surfaces. Some quick internet research shows this crankshaft as being correct for some 1937-1954 Chrysler and Desoto with 6-cylinder engines. I'm sure the MOPAR experts will know for sure. Please be sure this is the right part for your car before purchasing. Can't be many of these left, so pick one up while you still can!

First Sight: Holden Torana concept

Wed, 13 Oct 2004

Holden has stolen the limelight at the opening of the Australian International Motor Show in Sydney, unveiling a ground-up concept car dubbed the Torana TT36. The concept revives a famous Australian nameplate from the 1970s - appropriate since, like the original Torana, it features rear wheel drive and a six cylinder engine. That's where the similarities end, however, as the new Torana's engine is an experimental 280kW/490Nm twin turbocharged version of the new global V6 Holden has begun manufacturing for various parts of the GM world and which will eventually be used by Alfa Romeo.
