Car Design Awards China winners head to Coventry University
Wed, 18 Jul 2012Two Car Design China Award 2012 winners won the fantastic opportunity to spend two weeks in Coventry's Automotive Design department. We headed to Coventry to find out how Cao Chengang, a Tongji University graduate, and Gao Zhigiang, currently studying at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, are finding their time in the UK. After shaking off their jet lag they rolled their sleeves up and began an intense project under the watchful eye of the Art and Design school's senior lecturers.
Mini to return to the WRC in 2011 with 4x4
Tue, 27 Jul 2010Mini is back in rallying, more than 50 years after it ruled the roost at Monte Carlo and beyond, giving a huge shot in the arm to the World Rally Championship. In typically audacious style BMW has announced it will campaign the Countryman SUV rather than the standard Mini, starting with selected WRC rounds in 2011 followed by the entire 2012 season.It’s also a return to WRC for Banbury-based Prodrive, the outfit behind Subaru’s legendary WRC success, who will develop the car and run the team. Prodrive last campaigned in the 2008 season, and have been developing the Countryman since early 2009.
Subaru's Levorg concept set for Tokyo
Fri, 01 Nov 2013Subaru has revealed the first teaser images of its Levorg tourer concept ahead of its unveiling at next month's Tokyo Motor Show. The concept, which previews a new 2014 model, is designed to blur the line between a tourer's practicality and a sports car's design and will target the Japanese market. Its name is derived from a combination of the words ‘Legacy', ‘Revolution' and ‘Touring'.
