GM, Chrysler get cold shoulder from consumers, report says

In a classic case of: "It's not me--it's you," fewer consumers are considering the two Detroit automakers in the wake of their pleas for government assistance and bankruptcy rumors. The share of buyers who would make a GM car their primary choice fell 12 percent, and the share of Chrysler intenders dropped by one third, according to a study released Thursday by CNW Research of Bandon, Ore.

After claims about gauging public reaction, and teasing us with drives in a concept car that felt production-ready, the French manufacturer has done the decent thing and decided to build the RC Z. The production model will be shown at the 2009 Frankfurt show, two years after the concept was first unveiled.

There have been doubts that South Korea would get their act together and have their shiny new F1 facility ready to roll for 24th October (next Sunday), but it looks like the track has been signed off for next week’s race.
