Vintage VDO Cockpit 52mm 12 volt analogue clock for fitment to motorcycles from the mid 1970's to early 1980's.
The gauge is new, in very good condition and has not been trial installed. This is the only motorcycle version of VDO's quartz movement aftermarket analogue clock which I have seen anywhere. The clock is mounted in a metal early version of VDO's gauge mount which has a rubber isolation pad between the mounting bracket and the gauge mount. The clock appears to have a different sealing arrangement compared to normal VDO clocks around the external adjustement knob and the clock glass presumably to give it weather proofing. The clock has a manufacture date of February 1982. The clock comes with original packaging and instructions The clock has been tested to ensure that it works properly. BMW ConnectedDrive concept

A pure design study, the concept is said to explore the possibilities of interconnectivity and 'revolutionize driving in terms of comfort, infotainment and safety'. Though the teaser video to the left leaves many questions unanswered, the company is claiming it is 'setting the course for the future'.
General Motors combines smartphone functions with the Chevrolet Volt
Wed, 06 Jan 2010General Motors is bringing together two of the hottest areas of technology--smartphones and plug-in electric cars. GM's OnStar telematics unit has developed a downloadable application that will let Chevrolet Volt drivers use a Blackberry Storm, Apple iPhone or Motorola Droid to remotely control and monitor some vehicle functions, such as charging. The Volt is slated to go into production late this year and arrive in California utility company fleets by early 2011.
