We've sold over 300 vintage tailgates that customers use in restorations and repurpose into benches, tables, fences or signs.   We generally have several different makes and models, so be sure to view our other auctions and check back often…you never know what Pete will find.

There is a reason they are so popular…the size makes them the perfect bench back and the old worn paint and random dents and dings give them unique character; the patina of the oxidized metal can only be produced by time and the elements.

This tailgate came off an old 50’s Chevy and has a incredible "grunge" finish with faded turquoise, white and oxidized metal. (Use the zoom feature for an accurate visual description).  Instead of welds, the top and bottom is studded with evenly spaced brass bolts...a great look! You can buy new jeans that were made to look old, but it's not the same unless the battle scars were earned...same with tailgates.  This has a few bonds spots and a worn finish...but that's what makes it great.  Fortunately, we're from dry old Kansas and the metal is still sound...just a few random dents...and the finish is one of my favorites!  50 3/4" x 19 1/2".

Jaguar Mk2 (2014) unveiled by Ian Callum and Classic Motor Cars

Thu, 28 Aug 2014

By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 28 August 2014 13:26 Jaguar design chief Ian Callum often references the Jag Mk2. And for good reason; it set the tempo for sports saloons and was an influential forebear of modern hot-rods such as the XFR. So it should come as no surprise that Callum has teamed up a Jaguar specialist to build his own modern Mk2 homage.

2013 Ford Escape can tow 3,500 pounds with EcoBoost engine

Wed, 14 Mar 2012

The 2013 Ford Escape, which we saw at the Detroit auto show in January, will have a towing capacity of 3,500 pounds when equipped with the 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine, Ford said on Wednesday. That number easily bests four-cylinder-equipped competitors such as the Volkswagen Tiguan, the Kia Sportage and the Acura RDX. Ford says the new engine will make enough power to pull two jet skis down to the lake with a trailer, or to drag a snowmobile to the frozen tundra.

Mon, 10 Jan 2011

Kia whisked the covers off the KV7 concept car at the 2011 Detroit auto show this afternoon. These are the first official pictures of the KV7, a spectacular gullwing people carrier that's as bamboozling to look at as an adventurous Korean lunch to a westerner. The Kia KV7 is an SUV-MPV crossover, designed at Kia's Californian styling studio.
