Sandwiched in between, he was one of America's most celebrated flying aces of World War I. With prowess on the track and service to his country, the aviator had four starts at Indy and won the Congressional Medal of Honor.

Facelift Jaguar XK spotted

We’ve seen a few shots of the facelift for the Jaguar XK recently, but this is the first un-disguised car we’ve come across. The obvious at first view are the new vents in the front, but it’s a bit more extensive than that. The whole car has been tweaked to give a more current style, and there are LED lights at the back and indicators in the door mirrors.

This is Volkswagen’s New Compact Coupé (or NCC for short), a new coupé concept car just unveiled at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show. And although it’s just a show car for now, this gorgeous A5-alike two-door is expected to go into production within the next two years. Under the bonnet is a 148bhp/177lb ft direct-injection and turbocharged 1.4-litre TSI engine, which drives the front wheels via a seven-speed DSG gearbox.
