Ferrari SP Arya – a one-off Ferrari 599 GTO for Cheerag Arya

Indian-born and Dubai-based Cheerag Arya has commissioned a special one-off Ferrari 599 GTO – the Ferrari SP Arya. When your pockets are very deep and your love of all things Maranello runs in your blood, Ferrari Special Projects will bend over backwards to give you what you want. Just as they did with Eric Clapton and the  Ferrari SP12 EC Indian born businessman Cheerag Arya (know as CA), still only 32, spent many years working in the US but now lives in Dubai where he runs his family’s petrochemical business and indulges in his passion for Ferrari, particularly Ferrari’s big GT cars.

Honda Interface Exhibition

Ginza, Tokyo - Honda recently had a small exhibition to show their progression of IP and binnacle design. Situated in the design gallery of Matsuya, one of Tokyo's premier department stores, it included a chronology of Honda dashboards from the first Civic to tomorrow's FCX. Opposite this was a grid of recesses, which each contained dials taken from the current range of Honda road cars.

Ford Figo – Cool for India

The Ford Figo - made in India For has spent a few bob – around £300 million – expanding its car making facilities in India at Chennai to make the plant capable of producing 200,000 cars a year which, as Alan Mullaly, Ford’s CEO said, does show how serious Ford are about the Indian market. The Figo – which is apparently colloquial Italian for ‘Cool’ – shares Ford’s small car platform, which means that under the skin it’s a Fiesta. It looks like a Ford too, with the usual ford ‘Kinetic’ design cues written all over it.
