Last Saturday night (April 20) was one of those I-can't believe-I-get-paid-to-do-this kind of evenings. My wife Maria and I -- along with 550 of our closest friends -- were invited to attend the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute's 31st annual dinner. The name sort of says it all, and the dinner is a simple enough concept that even I get it: It's held to raise money.

Lord Paul Drayson (pictured) celebrating a new electric car land speed record Last month we reported that Lord Paul Drayson’s Drayson Racing were plotting an attack on the world land speed record for an electric car. And they’ve cracked it. In a two-way run at Elvington, Yorkshire, Lord Paul Drayson – Drayson Racing’s CEO and former science minister – was behind the wheel of the Drayson B12 69/EV as it completed two mile long runs in the space of an hour to record an average – and new World Record (for its class) – of 204.185mph.

BMW has released new images and a lengthy press release detailing the design process for the new 7 Series sedan, set to be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in October. We'll spare you the hyperbole here, but stay tuned for a Design Review of the Munich-based automaker's new range topping vehicle once we've seen the car in the metal in Paris.
