Grandfather Original Owner. This item is listed as a boat compass but I think it probably belongs on a desk or coffee table. The box is about 4" square, the glass is clear, and it is heavy. The housing is solid brass (I think). The compass works, but gets a bit hung up (about 15 degrees off North), just tap lightly and its dead on! Orginal box included (very fragile and brittle). |

Barn Find E-Type Jaguar sells at Coys for £88,000
Sun, 27 Oct 2013Jaguar E-Type chassis 860040 (pictured) sells for £88k Barn find cars are becoming rarer as the world’s classic car collectors have spent years scouring every nook and cranny for a hidden classic car. But they still turn up from time to time, and this E-Type Jaguar was discovered just last month by a Coys specialist in a barn in France, virtually untouched since 1974. One of the first right hand drive coupes to roll of Jaguar’s production line in 1961 – it was actually the 40th RHD E-Type – it was bought by the current seller’s estate in 1969, got a new coat of paint – a change from Grey to the current Aubergine – and driven to the family home in France in 1974, since when it’s sat under a dust sheet in a dry barn.

Sadly, the extra oomph was reserved for the US. Today’s news, however, applies to Volvos on both sides of the Pond, with a new top-end S80 being revealed – the Volvo S80 Executive – and a butch take on the V70 – the Volvo V70 R-Design.

The cheapest Evo X will be £27,499, £2504 more than the Subaru Impreza WRX STi. But if you’re not in the market for the all-out, all-paw Lancer then fear not, because the base 1.5-litre front-wheel drive model will cost only £12,499, just £4 more than the equivalent Scooby.
