Nissan backs radical DeltaWing racecar program
Wed, 14 Mar 2012Nissan has announced its involvement in a radical new motorsport project, dubbed the DeltaWing, which will race at the Le Mans 24 Hours this summer using Nissan power. The car is the work of Ben Bowlby who originally designed the car as a proposal for the 2012 IndyCar racer, which has since found the attention of Nissan after its rejection by the American race championship. The headlines of the design are that it's half the weight and has half the aerodynamic drag of a conventional racer and is therefore far more efficient.
GM spending $336 million on plant upgrades for Volt production
Mon, 07 Dec 2009General Motors on Monday said it would spend $336 million on upgrades to the Hamtramck plant near downtown Detroit to build the Chevrolet Volt hybrid car. The plant will begin building Volt prototypes next spring, using the Hamtramck plant's existing production line. Production of saleable vehicles begins next fall.

However, Jaguar has now started serial production of the F-Type Coupe and the first man in line for a nice, shiny F-Type Coupe is José Mourinho, as we reported a couple of months ago. The ‘Special One’ was presented with his new car – in Stratus Grey with 20-inch Gyrodyne Black and Diamond Turned Wheels, Red Brake Calipers, Panoramic Glass Roof and Meridian Sound – by two of the F-Type manufacturing team from Castle Bromwich - Gary Johnson and Steven Gaut – at an event in London.
