Vintage Style Stereo Radio Speakers For Porsche 356 61-65 T5 T6 No Modification on 2040-parts.com
Costa Mesa, California, US
- The original speaker for the Porsche 356 (B series 1960-65) was round, 5 inches in diameter.
- New 5 inch speakers are very hard to find (we do have them) and new 5.25 speakers will fit without modification. Depth only 2 inches.
- The problem we have found is most new speakers have "Star Wars/Death Star" style speaker grills which does not look right in a classic sports car.
- By using a nice new plain black wire mesh speaker grill (they come black, shown painted silver) with a pair of NEW 5.25 two way speakers, you can get better sound without modification and they look more period correct. Please see additional detail photo below
- We also include a set of speaker wires made specially with brown 18 GA wire like the original speaker wires used by PORSCHE.
- These are 4 ohm speakers and are not suitable for original radios since they do not put out enough power. Please see our 5 inch speakers with grills if you have an original radio.
We have original size 5 inch speakers available. They are especially useful if you have the original or reproduction speaker grills or if speaker depth is an issue. We recommend these 5.25 upgraded speakers if you are installing one of our 200 or 240 watt AM FM iPod/MP3 ready classic look NEW radios or if you are looking to replace an older set of non-original speakers.

Citroën designer teases production Cactus on French TV
Tue, 29 Oct 2013Citroën has given us a first glimpse of its production C4 Cactus model on a French television show. Viewers of TF1's ‘Auto Moto' program saw its presenter briefly lift the cover from the car's side, which showed that the unique ‘Airbumps' - made from a spongy material that protects against everyday wear and tear - have been retained, while a B-pillar and standard door handles have been added. An interior digital render was also presented, showing a cabin that's largely unchanged from the concept, which was unveiled at this year's Frankfurt motor show.
Swansea Metropolitan University degree show 2009
Fri, 24 Jul 2009Graduates from Swansea Metropolitan University, based on the South Wales coast, exhibited their final year BA and BSc Automotive Design projects at the National Waterfront Museum recently. A relative newcomer to automotive and transport design - this being only the second BA graduate cohort to graduate - the three-year course at Swansea Metropolitan yields a high standard of work, which has received positive industry support in recent years. With projects ranging from the slightly avant-garde to high-quality next generation or niche vehicles, the students were encouraged to select a philosophical direction that they were passionate about yet also suited their desired future career aspirations.
Jaguar XJ Review (2012): 3.0 litre Diesel Portfolio LWB
Sun, 17 Jun 2012We’ve had the latest version of the Jaguar XJ in for review – the LWB 3.0 litre Diesel Portfolio with Sports Packs – to see how the XJ is maturing. It’s getting on for two years since we had the first Jaguar XJ in for review, and almost three years since we first saw the new XJ at the Saatchi Gallery in London, almost a year before Jaguar managed to get their new range-topper in to showrooms. In between we had a long-term XJ in for review which was with us for four months and proved to be far more reliable than the early car we had in – which did have problems – and a car we covered most the UK in with almost nothing in the way of hiccups.
