Brand:Telex Warranty:No Manufacturer Part Number:5X5 Mark II

100% of the proceeds from this auction go to the Reno High Sierra 99s Scholarship Fund for women pilots.

This is a vintage Telex headset [see photos]. The box says: "5X5 PRO I TELEX® FAA -TSO-C-57-58 CAT. B...WT. 8 OZ." [see photo #1]. However, the headset itself says "5X5® Mark II Telex...Minneapolis, Minnesota...FAA-TSO-C-57-58 CAT. B...WT. .4 LBS" [see photo #5]. Possibly the former owner 'upgraded' and put their old set into the new box?

The old head pads were oxidized and crumbling so they have been replaced. The boom mike rotates smoothly and can be either right side or left side; there is a clip on the cord to attach to your shirt; the ear bud is there; and the mike & headset plugs are in good condition. This hasn't been tested in an airplane but all wires seem to be in good condition with no breaks or bends. The headband is adjustable from both sides for total comfort.  Box is sturdy hard-impact black plastic. Nice all around. No warranty on this item.

Looking to replace your old headset or looking for a lightweight Telex? Here it is.
