Mitsubishi to build new family of vehicles in U.S.
Mon, 17 Jan 2011Mitsubishi will assemble a new family of vehicles at its Illinois plant within two years, a source familiar with the company's plans said. The vehicles will be based on the platform underpinning the Outlander and Outlander Sport crossovers and Lancer sedan, the source said. Those models are assembled in Japan.

Fortunately, the ATS' proportions are far more appealing than its awkward bigger brother, with short overhangs, a long wheelbase and wide tracks giving it a good stance.

For perhaps the first time, Volvo are offering a serious alternative to cars like the BMW 1 Series (and the new Mercedes A Class) with the V40. Certainly on all the things that grab the headlines – looks, performance and equipment – the V40 seems to be a very credible effort from Volvo.
