Toyota concepts
Tue, 15 Nov 2011Toyota is set to unveil a trio of concepts at this year's Tokyo motor show. Taking snap-shots of the future of Toyota, they are said to represent the 'near-future, mid-term and far out.' Details on all three are currently limited, so stay tuned to CDN for our Tokyo show coverage, where we will bring you more details and images of all three cars. The FT-EV III represents the ‘near future'.
Mitsubishi i-MiEV UK price and specs revealed
Tue, 23 Mar 2010The Mitsubishi i-MiEV goes on sale in the UK in January 2011 As part of Mitsubishi’s wish to be thought of as the maker of eco-cars and the saviour of fluffy-bunnies and polar bear cubs, they’ve been pushing forward with their urban milk-float – the Mitsubishi i-MiEV – for all they’re worth. They launched the i-MiEV last year in Japan and have been softening up the public with bits of info this year such as the mad assertion that four policemen and all their kit would fit in an i-MiEV. So we all know the little electric Mitsubishi is coming, and in Japan – with a thumping big Government subsidy – it costs £20,000.
Spyker Cars to change name, shift focus
Mon, 23 May 2011Spyker Cars is changing its name to Swedish Automobile N.V., and its new Chinese partner, Pang Da, is waiting for authorities to approve the investment in Spyker and Saab. Known for more than a decade as a producer of exclusive muscle cars, Spyker sold off its sports-car business in February to focus on Saab. The company bought the Swedish automaker a year ago when General Motors was on the verge of shutting Saab down.
