Peugeot 208 - video and extra detail We’ve already covered the reveal of the Peugeot 208, but most of the information we had was in advance of Peugeot’s official release of details on the replacement for the 207. So we thought we should update with the extra bits that have come in from Peugeot on the new 208 this morning. Savage Rivale develops telescopic roof system [w/video]

Savage Rivale has revealed its design for a retractable telescopic multi-panel roof system (RTMP) that will feature on its 2012 Road Yacht GTS supercar. The system features 4 panels with glass centers and carbon fiber frames that retract into the rear deck by a centrally-mounted telescopic arm. Its locking mechanism is placed within the C-pillars and is controlled via one central module.

Opel Adam going rallying

Opel is adding a bit of rally credibility to the new Adam by taking it rallying with an Adam R2 rally car for a one-make cup. But perhaps GM Europe are hoping to inject a bit of performance credibility in to the uninspiring mechanical offerings the Adam currently offers with the revelation that they’re making a rally Adam prepared to basic R2 spec, which means a tweak or three from the standard production car. That means upgrades to the engine, suspension, brakes and gearbox to produce an Adam rally car that’s an affordable entry point for young drivers and Opel are aiming to compete in the ADAC Opel Rally cup with the Adam R2.
