Ferrari 458 Spider to debut at Frankfurt 2011

Tue, 09 Aug 2011

Ferrari 458 Spider will debut at Frankfurt 2011 The Ferrari 458 Italia is perhaps the best car Ferrari has ever made. And Ferrari are going to make sure they make the most of the 458′s status as the best supercar in its class by introducing the Ferrari 458 Spider at next month’s Frankfurt Motor Show. The big news for the 458 Spider is that it’s going to get a folding hardtop instead of the canvas roof the 430 Spider got.

MotorExpo London 2009 – a quick look

Mon, 08 Jun 2009

Merceeds Benz E Class is just one of the exhibitors at London' MotorExpo 2009 So it looks like, with a few exceptions such as the Geneva Motor Show, we will have to make do with ‘Boutique’ style shows. But at least they’re usually free and you do get pretty good access to the cars. And this week sees MotorExpo open for business in London’s Canary Wharf, with a reasonably impressive range of manufacturers showing up to display their latest wares, and a smattering of UK debuts to boot.

Minicars perform poorly in crash tests, study says

Tue, 14 Apr 2009

Minicars made by Toyota, Honda and Daimler AG did poorly on frontal crash tests with mid-sized automobiles, prompting an influential safety organization to suggest consumers consider buying larger cars that have comparable fuel economy. The Toyota Yaris, Honda Fit and Smart ForTwo all collapsed upon impact into the space around the driver dummy, according to the study released today by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Drivers in all three vehicles faced high risk of head and leg injuries after test collisions at 40 miles an hour, even after airbags inflated, said the non-profit group funded by auto insurers.
