Volkswagen plans return of Microbus

Wed, 14 May 2014

An expanded lineup of Beetle-themed cars are in Volkswagen's future, including a Microbus model that we have seen in various concept forms over the past decade, according to Auto Express. When Volkswagen renews the Beetle in 2019, it will also debut a crossover, coupe and a mini-MPV, all based on the MQB architecture that underpins the new Golf. Even though plans of an MPV rebirth date back to the introduction of a number of concepts in the early 2000s, Volkswagen hadn't pulled the trigger on putting an homage to the Bus (known as the Kombi in most of the world, or Camper in the U.K.) intro production for a number of reasons.

Audi RS7: 2013 Detroit Auto Show

Mon, 14 Jan 2013

The new Audi RS7 has been revealed at the Detroit Auto Show complete with the 552bhp 4.0 litre V8 from the new Audi RS6 Avant. With the same 552bhp 4.0 litre V8 the new RS6 Avant gets, the 2013 RS7  has permanent 4WD and can get to 62mph in the same blistering time as the RS6 Avant – 3.9 seconds – and on to a top speed of 155mph. That is unless you specify the Dynamic or Dynamic Plus package and then the RS7 can hit either 174mph or 189mph.

Lamborghini Jota spotted

Sun, 29 Aug 2010

The Lamborghini Jota snapped on the Autobahn The last news we had on the Lamborghini Jota - Lambo’s replacement for the now quite ancient Murcielago – was a pointless tease for the Jota sent to us in July by Lamborghini with a photo of a Lamborghini bonnet in half shadow replete with Lamborghini badge. Oh, and the highly original strapline: Coming Soon… Which we knew. We’ve been reporting on the Jota for quite some time (and on the halo Lamborghini we expect it to spawn – the Lamborghini Urus) so there are likely no huge surprises – except just how it’s going to look.
