These parts came from a 1979 boat with the 270 outdrive. This auction is for the upper gear box that the yoke end has 10 splines. This transmission shifts fine from forward to reverse and has the single bolt helmet mount.
The front universal joint is new and the inner has some surface rust but is okay and it will fit in the usps priority large flate rate box and with insurance shipping will be $24. The gear changes are in the lower unit so this will fit the 270,275, and 280 outdrives that have 4, 6 and 8 cylinder engines.. That meant the SC getting 261bhp and the 5-door Cupra 280 a very appealing 276bhp, enough to get the 280 to 62mph (when fitted with the DSG ‘box) in 5.7 seconds – appealingly lively. Not surprisingly, there were plenty of SEAT fans wanting to get up close and personal with the Leon Cupra 280, so SEAT invited a lucky pair to get suitably suited and led them in to an extreme simulator for the virtual drive of their life.
