Toyota Prius MPV teased
Mon, 11 Oct 2010The Toyota Prius MPV Facebook Tease We reported back in May that Toyota were finally going to produce a Toyota Prius MPV – probably with an extra row of seats – in 2011. Which looks to be on the money if the photo above, which has turned up on the Toyota Prius Facebook page today, is anything to go by. The photo seems to make it clear that even though Toyota are using the tag line “The Prius family is getting a whole lot bigger” we should sensibly conclude that the biggest bit of bigger is that there will be an MPV and a plug-in.
Elon Musk talks sense on Tesla Model S Fire
Fri, 22 Nov 2013Elon Musk talks sense on Tesla Model S Fire We’ve never pretended we’re fans of the electric car as a replacement for mainstream ICE cars; the technology is just too expensive to be viable. But we do see a good case for electric city cars, electric delivery vehicles that work in a confined area and electric taxis in cities. But you can add to that list luxury cars fitted with an electric powertrain where the cost of the technology can be absorbed more easily by a much higher list price.
Monster Jam is totally rad
Thu, 15 May 2014To our 6-year-old selves, monster trucks really were the biggest, baddest things on four wheels, mechanized, city-block-sized demon machines that ate sedans and belched fire. The reality is that the trucks aren't that big when you get right up next to them -- certainly not the Caterpillar 797-sized car-obliterators we imagined years ago. They're probably around 12 feet high at most; given current trends, they'll be eclipsed by heavy-duty pickups in a design cycle or two.
