2014 BMW M5 facelift leaked – by BMW’s own website
Tue, 14 May 2013Fortunately, the BMW news specialists at BimmerPost were on the ball and managed to get some screen-grab photos of the new M5 before BMW realised their mistake, so we get to see what BMW has planned for the M5, and probably a guide to what the facelift for the rest of the 5-Series range will offer. The changes aren’t huge, and as far as we can see all that’s going on is a bit of influence from the M6 and 6-Series in general, with a new kidney grill that looks like the 6 Series, and a steering wheel looks like that on the new M6 too, together with the latest iDrive controller. The leaked images don’t tell us what BMW are planning under the bonnet of the facelifted M5, but it’s not too much of a stretch to expect a Competition Package for the M5 to give it similar clout to the new Mercedes E63 AMG S.
2012 Mercedes A-Class revealed in patent filings
Wed, 11 May 2011The slightly drab 2012 Mercedes A-Class Car makers must hate filing for patents on new cars, because it means trusting images of their new and secret car to a third party. Basic images, admittedly, but the real-deal nonetheless. So Mercedes must be spitting feathers today as the images they sent with their patent applications on the 2012 A-Class leak out of every open window, door and PC and straight on to the interweb.
Crash test scheme to investigate whiplash and stability
Tue, 12 Sep 2006By Phil McNamara Motor Industry 12 September 2006 09:30 Electronic stability control and anti-whiplash head restraints should soon be part of the Euro NCAP crash test programme, CAR Online can reveal. Testers are keen to extend the programme beyond today's crash tests, which assess occupant safety for adults and children, as well as pedestrian injuries in an impact. 'We are always looking for the next area to investigate,' an NCAP insider told CAR Online.
