PEOPLE IN WALES caught smoking with children in their cars could be fined £50. Drivers caught with a cigarette in hand at the wheel while youngsters are strapped up in the back could face an on-the-spot fine. The move aims to protect youngsters from harm caused by second hand smoke, a Welsh government spokesman said.

One student designer has made history by winning the prizes for Best Overall Design and Best Use of Glazing at the 2011 Pilkington Vehicle Design Awards. For the first time in the awards' 24-year history, the prizes were awarded to Adam Phillips, a postgraduate of the vehicle design course at the Royal College of Art (RCA). Phillips, who previously worked as a toy designer for Lego before studying at the RCA, scooped the awards with a concept on the modern family car that uses iPad-style technology called ‘Family Dynamic'.

Power is of course the key to the GT3 – 468bhp and 324lb/ft of torque – but the power is no good unless the GT3 can put that power down as efficiently as possible in all circumstances. Porsche assert that the GT3′s chassis is engineered for Motorsport, and key elements of the new GT3 make it even more able.
