This is the REAL DEAL! Not the Modern version currently being sold by WEIAND thru any one of the numerous "discount" houses through out the USA. Probably the easiest way to tell is by the idler pulley mounting. The modern current production uses a thru fastener (bolt-nut) combo to retain the idler pulley to the idler arm. This Idler pulley is retained by a nut as well but rather than a hardware store bolt and washers this idler has a special spud or shaft that is drilled for a grease fitting in the outer end and has a hole made into the inner side that holds the shaft from spinning when tightening the nut. An Allen wrench or pin always seems to work best (for me anyway) to hold for tightening. Next the idler arm itself was going to be sent out to be polished when a quick spray of 'rattle can' silver didn't quite cut it. The previous owner decided after receiving a quote for the work he tried to save the $$$$ and tried to do it himself. One Quick pass on a belt sander and soon that too was abandoned. This listing includes the Idler Arm with Pulley as well as a single 3 inch wide offset and flanged 37 tooth drive pulley.  I have not looked at what the Modern Reproduced versions bring $$$ wise but I think they could be a little costly and RePro Besides! These pieces listed here are the Real/Genuine/Original versions. I think I have a couple fasteners/stepped washers/nuts that are needed that I'll add to these items as well.  Prefer to Have a Complete Early Version that is fully polished ?? The 2012 Kia cee’d debuts at Geneva After a single photo of the 2012 Kia cee’d in January, Kia now reveals its new cee’d ahead of a Geneva debut. Just like sibling Hyundai, Kia is on the up and the new 2012 Kia cee’d promises another jump in quality and appeal when it arrives in the UK in June after a public debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show next month. We had one photo of the new Kia cee’d last month, but now Kia has really pushed the boat out and sent us a whole four photos of their new Golf-sized offering.

May bids to build Mecanno motorbike

Tue, 26 Nov 2013

TOP GEAR star James May must be getting Meccano for Christmas because he is using the classic toy to build a motorbike and sidecar to race the Isle of Man TT circuit for a new show. The episode of his Toy Stories series, called The Motorcycle Diaries, sees May get to grips with a construction kit to try to build a vehicle capable of carrying him and co-star Oz Clarke around the 37-mile course. In previous episodes James May and his team have built a giant slot-car racing track, a full size Airfix replica of a Spitfire and a giant toy glider.

Will the Toyota Prius plug-in cost much the same as a normal Prius?

Mon, 19 Sep 2011

Toyota Prius plug-in - only around £2.5k more than a regular Prius? Toyota has managed to corner the market in hybrid cars over the last decade after its remarkably prescient decision to focus on ‘Eco’ cars long before the mainstream cottoned on to the changing mood of governments – and car buyers – to the impact cars have on wallets and the environment. We won’t drag out our usual objections to the ceaseless quest for pointless ever-lower CO2 emissions, but we will instead commend the Prius for being a remarkable transport appliance, one which – if driven in a certain manner – can produce remarkable feats of economy and emit pleasingly low levels of the stuff that does real harm – NOx and Particulates.
