Renault Captur concept car (2011) at 2011 Geneva motor show
Thu, 10 Feb 2011Renault today whisked the covers off the new Captur concept car. It’s a compact SUV akin to alliance partner Nissan’s Juke – and the Renault Captur will be the French brand’s star at the 2011 Geneva motor show in March. It’s certainly a welcome look at a clean-sheet proposal for an SUV.
BMW 640d xDrive announced
Fri, 24 Feb 2012On Thursday, Greg Kable waxed effusively about the new BMW M550d xDrive coupe, suggesting that it was the ultimate 5-series for everyday use. On Friday, Munich announced that the 5's two-door sibling will receive an AWD diesel variant: the 640d xDrive. While not quite as high-zoot as the 5-series' top oil burner, the 640d's 3.0-liter, twin-turbo straight-six cranks out a respectable 465 lb-ft of almighty torque between 1,500 rpm and 2,500 rpm, plus 313 hp at 4,400 rpm—numbers that, according to BMW, will carry the 6-series to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds.

Wed, 11 May 20112012 Ford Focus ST - complete with sperm camouflage Ford has got the 2011 Focus out in to the real world, and if the number that fly round the roads near here is anything to go by it’s selling very well. Of course, we’re in the heart of Ford Exec country here so they could all be Ford cars for ‘er indoors. But with the hard work out of the way on the bread and butter stuff, it’s time for Ford to pay more attention to a Focus with a bit more get up and go.
