Concept Car of the Week: Mazda Taiki (2007)

Mazda had been doing fantastically well with its concepts since the end of 2006, and its offering for the 2007 Tokyo motor show didn't buck the trend. The fourth in the 'Nagare' series that explored the idea of 'Flow, it lined up on the Mazda stand with its older brothers for the first time, and was understandably a most impressive display and one of the highlights of this show. Government promises £140 million for pothole patch-up

AP The government has promised an extra £140 million to help local councils patch up potholes on Britain’s roads. This includes those damaged in the major flooding that occured during Christmas and early February. Local authorities that suffered the worst of the recent flooding will receive £36.5 million to help repair flood-ruined roads, while the rest of the money will be doled out by the Department for Transport (DfT).

GM prepares to announce Pontiac closure next week

General Motors is preparing to announce early next week that the Pontiac brand will be eliminated, said a source familiar with the company's plans. The announcement will be made as part of an updated viability report to the U.S. auto task force, the source said.
