Volvo's eco-friendly DRIVe (2008): first photos and video
Wed, 10 Sep 2008By Nick Eaton First Official Pictures 10 September 2008 10:00 DRIVe is Volvo’s new eco-friendly, fuel-efficient technology that will be unveiled at the Paris motor show in October 2008, and we'll see it first on the C30, S40 and V50 1.6-litre diesel models. All of these cars achieve CO2 figures below 120g/km, which places them in the UK's VED tax band B and, according to Volvo, makes them the most efficient cars in their respective classes. UK sales start in January 2009.
Design Contest: Automotive design community gathers for annual design awards party in Paris
Thu, 16 Sep 2004More than 300 senior members of the automotive design community will be attending the Interior Motives Design Awards 2004 ceremony to be held at Le Cab, Paris on 24 September, during the Paris Motor Show. Among the special guests will be the Interior Motives Design Awards 2004 judges:- Olivier Boulay, Mercedes-Benz Advanced Design Japan- Guy Burgoyne, Volvo Cars- Simon Cox, GM Advanced Design UK- Bill Fluharty, Johnson Controls, Inc- Ulrich Lammel, Volkswagen AG- Steve Lewis, SEAT Cars- Sarah Maynard, Aston Martin Lagonda- Justyn Norek, I.DE.A Institute- Roberto Piatti, Stile Bertone- Marek Reichman, Ford Motor Company- Rus Shafer, Intier Automotive- Andreas Wlasak, Faurecia The Interior Motives Design Awards 2004 received over 200 entries from more than 31 countries and 47 design colleges, further establishing itself as a global competition. Attendees will have the chance to meet finalists from the world's top transportation and industrial design courses, as well as the awards' judging panel.
College Exhibition: Scuola Politecnica di Design Milan 2006
Tue, 22 Aug 2006Students from the Car Design Masters course at Scuola Politecnica di Design Milan presented concepts for an Audi Avant for 2015 at the school's studios in late June. The presentation of the Audi-sponsored project was made to Walter de'Silva, Design Director Audi Brand Group, who was actively involved in the project along with Audi designers Gary Telaak for the exterior design and Ingo Von Bargen for the interior. In October the students were assigned the task by Walter de'Silva of giving shape to the evolution of the Audi Avant concept.
