Weston Fifth Wheel for Testing / Calibration of Speedometer, Distance, etc. Unit was used at Chrysler Engineering then at Specialty Vehicles Inc. until the past year. Specialty Vehicles used it for testing Saleen manufactured performance cars. Sensor is from the 1960's but they have not changed since then. This sensor was tested and is WORKING. It comes with quite a few brackets for attaching to back bumpers, chassis, etc. Almost always have to make an intermediate bracket. Below picture of one of these from today. They perform the same way. Technology has not changed. The B/W photo in the above is of the exact Weston unit that I am selling from the late 60's. These use a spring on the bracket to keep a down force applied to the wheel to maintain best contact with the ground. The Fifth Wheel will come packed in the original wooden crate. It will ship freight due to size weight. approx 125 # and 17" x 30" x 47" also in photos. If you are only interested in the instrumentation, I can remove it and ship it without the wheel / bracket for MUCH CHEAPER SHIPPING. However, CAR has learned that they are computer-generated images of the Focus RS and do not reveal the finished item, which will be launched at the 2008 London motor show in July.The three shots were used in an internal presentation in 2007 and insiders claim the finished car is considerably different. 8th L'Argus Design Competition announced
Wed, 20 May 2009From 1 June 2009, design students will be invited to take part in the eighth annual L'Argus European Design Competition, which this year takes as its theme 'Less is More: Traveling in the Era of Simplicity'. Questioning students on the concepts of mobility and the future of automobile design, this contest - organized by French magazine L'Argus de L'Automobile - will run until 11 December 2009 and culminate in an awards ceremony on 20 January 2010. The competition is open to students attending design colleges within the European Union and Switzerland, including non-automotive courses covering disciplines such as industrial design, fine arts and architecture.
