The Ford Focus RS is about to get faster. Next week the Blue Oval will unveil a limited edition Focus RS500 with close to 350bhp. Ahead of the reveal Ford has launched microsite with a video of the RS500 being driven round its Lommel Proving Ground in Belgium.

There were more exciting show stands at Geneva but Chevy did muster up a small – in every sense – global unveil in the shape of the three-door Aveo supermini (the five-door was unveiled last autumn at the 2007 Frankfurt show). The smart-ish new exterior – all big grille and wraparound front lights – is a big improvement on the mundane Kalos it replaces but still a bit of a let down.

Rally star Ken Block gets Hot Wheels line

Rally driver Ken Block isn't the only one who gets to play around with his Monster/Ford Racing rally car. In time for the holidays, Mattel has created a special line of Hot Wheels toys based on Block's Ford Fiesta race car. "This is a dream come true.
