These are cargo straps and loops left over from the restoration of a 1947 Willys CJ-2A. The fasteners are Velcro. This attachment system includes 2 long straps, 2 medium length straps, and 2 short straps. These will work with any vehicle that has footman loops or a front bumper/frame arrangement as shown in the photos. Suitable for any number of other uses.

Ford, NHTSA investigate wheel studs on Fusion, Mercury Milan

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has upgraded an investigation into complaints about the 2010 Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan sedans to an engineering analysis, one step closer to a recall. The investigation of 317,315 cars results from claims of fractured wheel studs, which could cause a wheel to come off. Ford's investigation is ongoing and no recall has been announced.

For the masochistic car enthusiast--and many of us here at AutoWeek count ourselves among that breed--nothing is sure to tantalize and frustrate quite as nicely as a Lotus. Not just any Lotus, mind you, but a peaky, force-fed, emissions-saddled 1986 Turbo Esprit. The example shown here, http://detroit.craigslist.org/okl/ctd/2318628863.html, appears to be a fine specimen of Giguaro's wedgy Brit, and the rear-quarter decals indicate that this is a late HCi model--high-compression plus Bosch fuel injection.
