You are bidding on a used inner and outer windshield that I acquired a few years ago with a 1946 CJ2A.  I was saving it for a future project but have aborted the plans for that project so this needs a new home.  Overall it is fairly solid for a 70 year old part that was somewhat fragile when new.  The negatives that I can see are that it has a few extra holes in the sheetmetal, one of the wing bolts is missing, and the upper portion of the frame is tweaked a bit towards the driver's side which makes it difficult to latch the window.  There is also some rust repair that will be required to the top bar on the one side where the inner frame attaches to the hinge (see photo with white arrows).  The glass will need replaced.  I would think the outer frame could be tweaked back into shape once the inner frame is removed.  The rust repair will require a bit more creativity or use the top bar from another frame.  If nothing else, there are some good parts if you are restoring your Willys back to original.  This is a large and heavy item so no shipping on this piece.  You will have to pick it up in Charleston, WV.  I can store for 30 days but payment is expected within 7 days.

2013 Skoda Octavia Estate revealed

Tue, 19 Feb 2013

Ahead of a debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, Skoda has revealed the estate version of the new Octavia with a pair of photos. The 2013 Skoda Octavia Estate takes the already capacious Octavia hatch to a new level, with a boot that will swallow 610 litres of stuff with the seats up and an impressive 1,740 litres with the seats down, a significant chunk more than the competition can offer. The extra capacity comes courtesy of extra length compared to the Octavia hatch, with the estate growing by 110mm in the wheelbase – with an extra 73mm for rear passengers’ legroom – and 90mm longer overall.

'American Nitro' is back!

Wed, 09 Apr 2014

"Seventies drag-race mayhem is back!" bills "American Nitro," a schlocky drive-in exploitation film whose only quote of praise, from a dog-eared period issue of "Car Craft," reads, simply, "SPECTACULAR CRASHES!" Director Bill Kimberlin says that he made "American Nitro" in 1979 as a response to Tom Wolfe's influential 1965 essay, "The Kandy-Kolored Tangerine-Flake Streamline Baby." "I was just getting out of high school in a small town in Northern California when Wolfe's book came out," he said. "Nitro came about as my response to the car culture I was exposed to in the small valley town of Boonville, Calif. Instead of 'American Graffiti,' I made 'American Nitro.'" A fitting comparison, in fact, considering Kimberlin later worked for George Lucas at ILM, starting with" Return of the Jedi." Now the movie is being released on DVD for the first time -- beware of bootlegs, warns the website -- and digitally remastered, while retaining the explosive charm and goofy narration of the 1979 original.
